Good news!

I have my outlet tester and it's in the car...for good.  So sadly, the blow dryer is needed no more. Ha!!

Outlet Shenanigans

Well here is a funny shenanigan to start off the year!

The other night, I had a final walkthrough scheduled with my clients and when I got there I realized that I did not have a tester nor ANYTHING else in my car that I could plug in to ensure a certain outlet was working.

So...I went on a journey to find the closest store to buy anything that I could plug in...I was faced with not many options as there were no stores immediately near by. The closest store that was a Sally Beauty Supply.

Which resulted in testing the outlet with a blow dryer...yes, I said blow dryer. May not be your first choice, but I was determined to make sure it worked before we left.  In case you were wondering, the outlet worked, as did the blow dryer.  Pretty well for being a little mini, travel size dryer.

Hey, if you can't laugh at yourself, who can you laugh at?! So, I thank you Sally Beauty Supply store, you really helped a girl out and made everyone laugh.

Throwback Thursday

Throwback Thursday to freezing off everything during a home inspection last month.

Whew, I have some thin blood.  This has been the warmest winter; however, there have been some cold nights and this was one of them!

Thankfully in Arizona, we have the capability to move whenever we would like to!

Welcome!!

Welcome to my new site! This will be a place for me to share all my real estate shenanigans, funny, serious and informative!

A little about my journey...

About 14-15 years ago I began my journey in lending, over the 11 years of helping and assisting in commercial lending my love for real estate grew and grew.  Working with those starting up their businesses, to purchasing commercial buildings and investment properties and then working with them as they built those building and homes, was a wonderful experience and one I genuinely loved.

Despite loving that job so much, I took a job that allowed me to be with my family more often.  I thought about getting my real estate license many times, as I always wanted to buy and sell homes; however, I never thought it would be possible with having littles at home.  Trying to find the time to go to school and study was not in the cards; so I thought.

A couple years ago I had a friend ask if I would be interested in helping out a friend of hers, Serena, who was looking for an assistant.  Her and I got in touch and then I began to help her on a very part-time basis with her office needs etc.  During the time I was helping her, she decided to develop her own Brokerage, Serene Living AZ.

Just after she got the brokerage up and running, I was faced with a career decision.  Stay in the same field I was in, or take a long shot and do something I have always wanted to do.  After some thought, I made the decision to put an offer together, so to speak, and see if I could jump on board and help her out.

Without any hesitation, she accepted!

My husband was very supportive and said this is what you want, it's right in front of you so go for it!  I then told him, you know this means I have to go to school and study, right?....ha!

When my contract was up with my current job, I took some time and then went to Real Estate school during the last month my own kids were in school.  I took the fast course, 3 weeks to be exact, to learn all that I had to in order to get my license.  After many, many hours of studying and taking practice tests, I took the exam and passed! Woot-Woot!!

I don't care what anyone says, the school exam was hard...so much info crammed in to a 4 hour test was crazy.  But I did it and am so happy I took on the challenge!!

I have been working for my broker and her team for a while now with our transactions, as well as doing my own transactions.  It's been a blast thus far and I love every single minute of it!!  Every day it's something new and I am happy to share my experience along the way.
